The Specialty of Orofacial Pain

Orofacial Pain is the newest recognized specialty of dentistry that encompasses the diagnosis, management and treatment of pain disorders of the jaw, mouth, face, head and neck.

 

The American Board of Orofacial Pain (ABOP) is the governing board for certifying eligible Orofacial Pain Specialists. To become a Board Certified Diplomate of the ABOP, the specialist dentist must first pass an intensive written exam, followed by an oral exam comprised of multiple complex patient cases.

 

Dr. Wang is currently the first and only Board Certified Orofacial Pain provider in the State of Illinois who has also attained Board Certification with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
