Initial Evaluation
The Initial Evaluation Process
Initial evaluations are typically scheduled over two separate visits so that Dr. Wang can spend the appropriate amount of time with you to evaluate your symptoms, to discuss your concerns and to review any additional reports or scans from other providers. The goal of the initial evaluation process is to gather all the information required to make an accurate diagnosis for you.

1
Information Gathering
Dr. Wang will review questions related to your specific concern(s). At the first visit, the focus will be on the symptom that concerns you the most. Additional concerns may need to be addressed at a separate visit.
2
Clinical Examination
The exam will typically consist of a dental screening, cranial nerve screening, evaluation of the major muscles of the head/neck/jaw, jaw joint (TMJ) and jaw range of motion. Additional testing may be needed based upon symptoms.
3
Review of Findings
Dr. Wang will review and discuss her findings with you. She encourages patients to ask questions along the way. If any additional imaging, consultations with other specialists and/or blood work are necessary, you will be referred appropriately.
4
Custom Therapy Plan
Once a diagnosis is made, a custom therapy plan will be created for and reviewed with you. Dr. Wang follows a conservative, integrative approach to minimize the need for irreversible, invasive therapies.
