Initial Visit
The Initial Evaluation Process
Initial evaluations involve a 2-step process so that Dr. Wang can spend the appropriate amount of time with you to review your history, to evaluate your symptoms, to discuss your concerns and to review any additional reports or scans from other providers. The goal of the initial evaluation process is to gather all the information needed to make an accurate diagnosis for you.

1
Information Gathering
Dr. Wang will review questions related to your specific concern(s). At the initial evaluation, the focus will be on the symptom that concerns you the most. Additional concerns may need to be addressed at a separate visit.
2
Clinical Examination
The exam may include a dental and cranial nerve screening, an evaluation of the major muscles of the head/neck, jaw joint (TMJ) and jaw range of motion. Additional imaging or testing may be needed based upon symptoms.
3
Review of Findings
Dr. Wang will review and discuss her findings with you. She encourages patients to ask questions along the way. If any additional imaging, consultations with other specialists and/or blood work are necessary, you will be referred appropriately.
4
Custom Therapy Plan
Once a diagnosis is made, a custom therapy plan will be created for and reviewed with you. Dr. Wang follows a conservative treatment approach to minimize the need for irreversible, invasive therapies.
*If a CBCT/3D scan is needed, there is no fee for the scan but there will be an additional fee for the radiology service because Dr. Wang usually requires a full jaw scan and relies on the expertise of an oral radiologist to help make sure that no details are overlooked.
