New Patient Information
Is This You?
You've seen multiple providers and still don't have a clear answer.
You've been told everything "looks normal" on tests or imaging, but the pain or symptoms are real.
You're dealing with facial pain, jaw pain, or headaches that haven't resolved with other treatment.
You've tried a splint, medication, or physical therapy with minimal or no lasting relief.
A provider offered treatment before ever imaging or fully examining you.
Or maybe none of the above applies: your symptoms are recent, and you would simply rather start with an accurate diagnosis than guesswork.
Already tried a night guard or splint for TMJ without lasting relief? That's often a sign the underlying joint or muscle issue was never fully diagnosed - not that treatment didn't work.
Whether your symptoms are brand new or long-standing, if any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
Who You Will Be Seeing
Dr. Wang is a Board-Certified Orofacial Pain Specialist with additional Fellowship-training in Integrative Medicine, and currently the only provider in Illinois holding Diplomate status with both the American Board of Orofacial Pain (ABOP) and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM). She focuses on diagnosing and managing pain and other strange sensations of the head, face, and neck, whether your symptom is a recent development or one that other dental and medical providers have struggled to identify or resolve.
How Our Practice Works
Diagnosis before treatment. Every initial evaluation begins with a full exam, history, and imaging review. Not a guess.
Why it matters: Treatment without a clear diagnosis is how patients cycle through providers without results. Even in simpler cases, confirming the true cause upfront avoids unnecessary procedures, medications, or interventions down the road.
This takes longer upfront. Some patients come here early, before trying other treatments; others arrive after already spending significant time and money on appliances or procedures without lasting relief. Either way, the same thorough process applies.
Direct Access to the Doctor
You will speak directly with the doctor. Not office staff. Not a call center. Every new patient starts with a Discovery Call conversation with Dr. Wang about their specific concerns.
Cost
Fee-for-service. We are a fee-for-service practice. Insurance is not accepted. This decision was made to allow Dr. Wang to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to providing individualized care for her patients. Payment is due at the time of service. A superbill is available upon request for self-submission to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
A note on insurance codes: Billing codes are not provided prior to your visit. Reimbursement depends on your specific insurance plan, not the billing code.
Our approach often saves money, not adds to it.
Free consults often lead to expensive guesses. A provider who doesn't charge for the initial evaluation typically makes up for it in the treatment that follows - oral appliances, Botox, and similar treatments often cost significantly more than our comprehensive initial evaluation. Paying for a proper diagnosis upfront is frequently the less expensive path overall, not the more expensive one.

How the New Patient Scheduling Process Works:
Step 1 - Discovery Call: A direct, paid conversation with Dr. Wang about your situation - what is going on, what you have tried, and whether an evaluation makes sense. If it's a good fit, she will confirm your evaluation fee and personally schedule your visit. If not, she will provide recommendations or referrals instead. Either way, you're not left hanging.
Step 2 - Comprehensive Initial Evaluation: Your visit includes a full exam, history review, and imaging/testing as needed. Dr. Wang will determine an accurate diagnosis and build a treatment plan based on your specific findings, often with treatment already started the same day.
Step 3 - Follow-Up Care: Follow-up visits are scheduled based on your individual needs to monitor progress and adjust care as needed.
